If you are in the market for a cheap tablet, we have news that will probably make your day. The HiSense Sero 7 LT Android tablet has just dropped below $100 price point at Walmart. Priced at $99, the Sero 7 LT is currently one of the cheapest tablets in the 7-inch category. For comparison, the Amazon Kindle Fire costs $159, the HP Slate 7 is offered at $170 and the Barns and Noble Nook HD and the Google Nexus 7 are both selling for $199.

The HiSense Sero 7 LT specs are not bad at all, though obviously the tablet is not the most high-end device. The Sero 7 features a 7-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor. The tablet packs 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card slot.
In terms of connectivity, the device offers Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Micro USB 2.0 port as well as mini HDMI port. The Sero 7 LT is also equipped with a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The tablet runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and ships pre-loaded with Nook eReader, Pandora Internet Music, Facebook, NVIDIA’s TegraZone apps and access to Google Play.
The specs seems more that decent but the device seems to have one weak spot. According to folks from Engadget, the Sero 7 LT’s battery appears to provide power for no more than 4 hours of use on one charge. If you think that this detail might be too much of an obstacle, you can opt for the HiSense Sero 7 Pro model, which together with slightly upgraded specs, also offers a 10-hour battery.
