Coolpad Quattro 4G for Metro PCS | Cheap PhonesThe Metro PCS’ offer has been expanded with a new entry-level Android smartphone manufactured by a new partner – Coolpad Americas. The Coolpad Quattro 4G, as it is the phone in question, is the first Coolpad Americas’ device launched on the US market and sells for just $99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with no contract. The offer is time-limited, so let’s not waste more time and move on to the most important things.

Learn more about Coolpad Quattro 4G

The Coolpad Quattro 4G for Metro PCS is sleek and stylish and comes quite well equipped for its price. For a starter you get 4-ich WVGA capacitive, multi-touch display with a 480 by 800 pixels resolution, a Samsung-like interface and a 3.2 MP rear camera with auto focus, LED flash and capability of recording videos. Do you like to see the person you are talking to? If so, then you will be happy to know the Quattro 4G also feature a 0.3 VGA front camera for video chatting.

The device is powered by a single-core processor clocked at 1 GHz, which may not be very impressive but still will allow you to download games, videos and apps pretty fast. In terms of memory, the phone sports 512 MB of RAM and 1 GB of internal memory, expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card slot, so it is very unlikely you would run out of storage space.

The Coolpad Quattro is equipped with high-speed 4G LTE radios, which is yet not a standard in mid-range phones, and comes as a nice surprise in an entry-level device. There is one more surprise, this time rather disappointing, which is the operating system. The phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, by many considered antique nowadays. But hey, low price requires some sacrifices and in the case of the Quattro 4G it is the operating system.

The phone has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, various e-mail protocols support (IMAP, POP3, SMTP, Microsoft Exchange) and built-in browser supporting HTML and HTML5. According to the manufacturer, the device’s 1600 mAh battery allows for up to 3 hours talk time and up to 200 hours standby time, which is not a record, but still quite a lot.

Other features of Coolpad Quattro 4G include: music player with a filter by features (album, artists, album cover, background playback), YouTube player, caller groups, multiple numbers per contact, search by both first and last name, picture ID, ring ID, calendar, alarm, calculator, microUSB port, music ringtones (MP3), polyphonic ringtones, vibration, flight mode, silent mode, accelerometer, voice dialing, voice commands, and voice recording.

In the box, apart from the phone, you will find battery, USB charger and 2 GB microSD card.

If you don’t feel the need to stand out from the crowd and can be satisfied with the phone’s simple looks and not incredibly sophisticated specs, then the Coolpad Quattro 4G is definitely for you.
