Get Nook Simple Touch FreeWant to get an e-reader for free? That is as long as you buy the Nook HD+ currently selling for $269 for the 16 GB model. The e-reader was originally priced at $79, so you will be getting quite a valuable present to bundle with your Nook HD+. You should hurry up if you want to take advantage of the deal since it expires March 30.

Deal on Free Simple Touch e-Reader

Nook HDThe promotion is attributed to the recently announced 26% drop in company revenues from the tablet business. Back in December 2011, sales rate of the Nook Color tablet brought Barnes & Noble to a honorable fourth place in the market share but fierce competition from Apple’s iPad, Amazon’s Kindle and Google’s Nexus weakened Nook’s popularity. Following unusually poor 2012 holiday season, the company saw itself in need of boosting the sales of the Nook tablet, hence the promotion.

The Nook HD+ features a 9-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1280 pixel resolution at 256 ppi. The tablet is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and comes with 16 GB or 32 GB of built-in memory and microSD slot for memory expansion. Plus the devices provides access to free unlimited NOOK Cloud storage for all your content. The Simple Touch e-reader sports a 6-inch E Ink Pearl display which remains clear and easy to read even in direct sunlight. The reader offers 7 font sizes, 6 font styles, Wi-Fi connectivity and expandable memory up to 32 GB.
