The HTC First just got its first price cut. If you were thinking about treating yourself to this particular phone now would be the best time to do this, as AT&T just dropped its price from $99.99 to $0.99 on contract, which is almost free. We have good news also for those who prefer to have the phone without any obligations. The outright price is now $350 which is $100 off of its regular price. The carrier did not disclose yet if the new price is permanent or just limited-time offer.
Deal on HTC First Facebook Phone
The HTC First went on sale just last month, so why did AT&T feel the need to bring its price to a lower level so soon? It is speculated that the decision was dictated by poor sales results. The carrier neither confirms nor denies these rumors but the truth is that the device received less enthusiastic reviews than expected. While on the hardware side the HTC First is a decent offering, some critics apparently felt a bit overwhelmed by Facebook Home experience.
The HTC First with its 4.3-inch 720p display, 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM fits perfectly in the mid-range category. The phone offers 16 GB of internal memory, 5-megapixel rear and 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,000 mAh battery. If you do not like Facebook Home software, you can turn it off and you will be left with vanilla version of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. A major plus is undoubtedly the 4G LTE radio which will allow you to take advantage of AT&T super fast network.
Well, what do you think. Is HTC First for $0.99 worth your attention?
