April 12 will go down as a big day in T-Mobile’s history as it is the first time ever that an iPhone was released on the carrier’s network. And it is not just any iPhone, but the latest iPhone 5. The handset is available in retail and online starting at just $99.99 down plus $20 installments over 24 months. That much money will get you a 16 GB model. If you need more storage, the 32 GB version costs $199.99 upfront and 24 monthly payments of $20. If you want to go all the way up to 64 GB, you will have to pay $299.99 upfront, again with $20 installments.
Apple iPhone 5 for T-Mobile – Overview
The Magenta network deserves applause for one more thing. T-Mobile-branded iPhone 5 will support HD Voice and no other carrier has offered an iPhone 5 with that feature so far. Also, T-Mobile has released un update for the iPhone 5. The update solves some battery life problems and enables the handset to run on the carrier’s recently launched LTE network. As of now, the super fast network is available in seven markets, but T-Mobile’s aim is to deliver LTE speed to 200 million users by the end of 2013.
If the iPhone 5 is not your cup of tea, you can go for the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S, since both are in the carrier’s portfolio starting today. The iPhone 4 can be yours for as little as $18 upfront and the iPhone 4S requires $69.99 down payment. The remaining value of both phones will have to paid off with 24 monthly installments – $18 in the case of the iPhone 4 and $20 if you purchase the iPhone 4S.
